Google and Surround Vision launch “The Female Planet” VR series

VR technology contributes to women empowerment.

    Google and Surround Vision have joined hands to make it possible to use VR technology so that young women can get inspired and learn from the global female leaders.

    Well, the two companies have released a new VR video series called The Female Planet that will capture the everyday lives of amazing female role models all over the world. The Female Planet revolves around the personal and professional experiences of five women who have a great career in technology, arts, sports, and science.

    Young and aspiring women can follow the footsteps of their female role models as they take them through their everyday routines. The aspiring and budding women can get to see inside their workplaces, hear why they chose the path that they are in right now, and what pushed them to keep going.

    Each episode of The Female Planet VR series will feature a different female leader such as Inna Braverman, an entrepreneur who converts wave power into green energy or Tiera Fletcher, a Boeing aerospace engineer who is behind the designing of a rocket for the NASA mission to Mars.

    The first episode of The Female Planet features Gina Rodriguez, the Golden Globe winner of "Jane the Virgin" talking about her father's boxing lessons and how her mother's strength instilled courage in her to accept the roles that empower women. She takes viewers to the set of the Season 4 of "Jane the Virgin" and explains how Jane is all set to bust stereotypes.

    The VR series was shot in 3D 360 with the YI YALO Camera and Google's Jump technology. The former has 17 cameras in a 360 array and is teamed up with Jump tp stitch the images together to result in a high-resolution 3D video that will show near things closer and far things farther. Eventually, there will be a great immersive experience in the stories.
