Chinese phone maker Meizu seems to be soon entering into the smart wearable segment with a new smartwatch. So far the company launched quite an interesting set of devices, including the Meizu M3, the M3 Note and the Meizu Pro 6 smartphones in budget and mid-range segment. Now, it is working on expanding its range of devices, by adding a new smartwatch to its portfolio.
A few days back, Meizu teased a smartwatch on Chinese social networking site Weibo. The company posted sketches of a smartwatch, featuring a round design and showing several watch faces and strap options. Now, a Chinese photographer apparently received a mystery box from an anonymous source. The black coloured box seems to be a watch box, instead of a smartphone box.
As far as its features and specs go, we are not sure about the hardware part, as there is no detail available about it yet. However, if we go by the previously leaked sketches, there could be three variants of the watch, with different strap options. One of these could be a premium watch featuring a big dial. It could be a sports watch and might as well have waterproof resistance. The other two watches look casual and could be targeted at female consumers. Moreover, these watches will most likely have fitness tracking capabilities.
While Meizu is yet to make any official announcement on this mysterious smartwatch, we assume that the company will be unveiling it pretty soon to take on its rivals. Considering that IFA is a couple of months away, Meizu's smartwatch might see the morning sun at the upcoming event!
Xiaomi is also prepping its new smartwatch, and Meizu might want to beat its rival by introducing its smartwatch ahead of Xiaomi.
