Meta Launches Oakley Performance AI Glasses For Athletes: Check Price, Features, Availability
Meta has introduced a new category of smart eyewear called Performance AI glasses, developed in collaboration with Oakley, a brand under EssilorLuxottica. This launch signifies an extension of Meta's partnership with Oakley, following the success of the Ray-Ban Meta series. The eyewear combines Oakley's athletic design with Meta's AI and wearable technology, enhancing Meta's range of wearable tech products.
The Oakley Meta glasses are crafted for athletes and their supporters, merging Oakley's robust styling with Meta's advanced AI features. These glasses offer a seamless integration of performance and smart functionalities for those on the move. The debut model, named Oakley Meta HSTN (pronounced HOW-stuhn), is inspired by Oakley's HSTN frame design.

Oakley Meta HSTN: Features and Design
All versions of the Oakley Meta HSTN, including the Limited Edition, come equipped with a 3K camera featuring an ultra-wide 12 MP sensor for hands-free photo and video capture. An LED light indicates when photos or videos are being recorded to ensure privacy. Open-ear directional Bluetooth speakers allow users to listen to music or take calls while remaining aware of their surroundings.

The glasses also include the Meta AI assistant for hands-free assistance. Users can receive updates, play music, take photos, send messages, and more by simply saying "Hey Meta." Touch and voice controls are available for managing playback, calls, and content. The eyewear is IPX4 water-resistant, making it suitable for rain and sweat exposure.
Battery Life and Accessibility
The battery life offers up to 8 hours of typical use or 5 hours of continuous audio playback, with up to 19 hours on standby. Fast charging capabilities allow the battery to reach 50% in 22 minutes and 80% in 45 minutes. The case provides extended power lasting up to 48 hours. Accessibility support includes voice control and Be My Eyes network integration for users with reduced vision, hearing, or mobility.

The Limited Edition version commemorates Oakley's 50th anniversary with exclusive gold accents and Desert 24k Prizm Polar lenses while maintaining the same specifications as standard models. Pre-orders for this version began on July 11 at USD 499 (approximately Rs. 43,220). Standard models will be available later this summer starting at USD 399 (approximately Rs. 34,560).

The glasses are compatible with Android devices running version 10+ and iPhones running iOS 15.2+ using the Meta AI app. They are available in several countries including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Australia, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark.
