Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glass Users Can Now Make Video Calls on WhatsApp
Meta's latest update for the Ray-Ban smart glasses makes it compatible with WhatsApp and Messenger video calls. It is a hands-free feature, allowing users to view to share their real-time views during calls on the messaging apps. Meta says the video calling feature on Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses is rolling out gradually.
Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses were launched in partnership between Meta and EssilorLuxottica last year. In December, the smart glasses received multimodal AI-powered capabilities, allowing users to speak with their glasses.

It understands what you're seeing using the built-in camera. Users can ask Meta AI for help writing a caption for a photo taken during a hike or ask to describe an object they're holding. The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses were announced starting at $299 (roughly Rs. 25,000).
It comes with a charging case and has a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a five-mic system. The camera offers 1440x1920 resolution and packs 32GB storage. They are claimed to last up to 4 hours of battery life and support Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity.
Meta smart glasses are also available in multiple shapes and sizes, can be customised as per requirement, and are compatible with power lenses. When the camera is in use, there will be a tiny LED that lights up to indicate that the glasses are currently recording a video or taking a phone, which can be accessed on a paired smartphone, and the Meta smart glasses are compatible with both Android and iOS devices. They are currently available in over 15 countries, excluding India.
