Microsoft Band 3 appears to be a great device but its canceled
Microsoft Band 3 would have been the best smart band if the company had not canceled the lineup.
Although the Microsoft Band 2 was one of the finest fitness trackers in the market, the company canceled the lineup forever. The company decided not to believe in its lineup of fitness trackers and wristbands anymore. Unfortunately, the Microsoft Band 3 that was already finished and ready to be announced could not make its way into the market as the lineup was canceled before its unveiling.
Now, those at Windows Central have got their hands on the prototype model of the Microsoft Band 3 that was canceled and have reviewed it as well. From the review that they have come up, we can make out that the Band 3 is definitely a solid improvement in comparison to its predecessor - the Band 2. Along with the review, the Microsoft Band 3 photos have also been revealed by the report.
Firstly, the Microsoft Band 3 appears to be a more comfortable device to wear as it is slimmer at the back and is also more compact than its predecessor. There is a slimmer clasp and an action button that is not coated in black. The major differences in comparison to the Band 2 are in terms of aesthetics.
When it comes to the performance, the charging time of the Band 3 appears to have been improved significantly. The report claims that the wristband takes just an hour to be charged from 10% to 100% that is an improvement in comparison to its predecessor that takes 1.5 hours for the same. Also, the Band 3 is fully waterproof instead of just being water-resistant.
The Microsoft Band 3 appears to have two new sensors - RFID and electrocardiogram sensors. Among the other important features are the swimming exercise tracking and improved well-being tracking. The other sensors are exactly the same as those on the Band 2. The smart band appears to have similar dimensions as its prequel and a curved AMOLED display with 320 x 128 pixel resolution as well. There is Bluetooth 4.0 LE for pairing with smartphones. The report adds that the Microsoft Band 3 would have been the best smart band ever from the company.
