Oakley Meta HSTN to Launch in India on December 1 With Meta AI, 3K Camera and UPI Payments: Check Price, Specs
Smart glasses have long hovered between concept and everyday tool. The Oakley Meta HSTN, arriving in India on December 1, sits in that same evolving space. Instead of trying to replace the smartphone, it brings a set of hands-free features into a familiar eyewear format, focusing on voice interaction, quick capture, and on-the-go utility.

Core hardware and physical design
The Oakley Meta HSTN integrates a camera into the frame for hands-free photo and video recording, with support for up to 3K video. Audio is handled through open-ear speakers, allowing users to hear instructions or media without fully blocking environmental sound. The glasses carry an IPX4 rating, which means they’re built to handle sweat and light splashes during routine outdoor activity.
Battery life is listed at up to eight hours of active use and around 19 hours on standby. A charging case extends overall usage by up to 48 hours and supports fast charging, allowing the glasses to be topped up quickly between sessions.
How Meta AI functions on the glasses
Meta AI is embedded directly into the HSTN and can be activated through the “Hey Meta” wake command. Users can interact with the assistant through voice to ask questions, trigger content capture, or access basic contextual information while remaining hands-free.
This shifts certain phone-based interactions into a wearable format, reducing the need to reach for a device in situations where quick responses or minimal interruption matter.
Hindi interaction and voice customisation
For Indian users, the glasses support full Hindi interaction through the Meta AI app settings. Voice commands, content control, and general queries can be handled in Hindi, using tools designed for regional language processing.
Meta has also added alternative AI voice options, including celebrity-style voices. These are primarily customisation features, offering users a different tone or style when interacting with the assistant.
UPI payments in development
A feature currently under testing is support for UPI Lite payments. This would allow users to look at a QR code and complete a transaction via voice command, with payments processed through a WhatsApp-linked bank account.
While not yet widely available, this functionality points to broader ambitions for smart glasses to handle everyday tasks beyond media capture and information access.
Availability, pricing and variants
The Oakley Meta HSTN will be available for pre-sale through Sunglass Hut, followed by broader availability via select optical retailers across India. Pricing starts at ₹41,800.

Six frame and lens combinations will be offered, all compatible with prescription lenses. These include options with PRIZM and Transitions lenses, catering to different visual and environmental needs.
