Samsung files patent for a new Wearable Smart Ring
Samsung has filed a new patent application in the USPTO for an accessory called "Smart Ring". The 'Smart Ring' according to the patent can control a smartphone, a Smart TV or tablet. The patent has been published by the USPTO.
The Smart Ring can work on several devices including home automation systems. A 'Smart Ring' is equipped with sensors and comes some pre-set functions to it. The Smart Ring can help control Home appliances and other devices. A diagram fo the Patent shows that the smart Ring technology can be used to control TV, Radio, Window Blinds, living room lights and other connected devices in a smart home.
The Patent filing reveals that the Smart Ring accessory could be used with social networks like Facebook or Twitter. Smart Ring is not a new technology. Companies like Microsoft, Apple and Google are already tinkering with the idea of a Ring that can control devices. The race is in for the first of those companies to file their patents. While Samsung has filed such a patent, the other companies are also experimenting a similar technology.
