Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 Launched with Emergency SOS, IP68 Rating, Fall Detection
Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Fit 3, the latest addition to its fitness tracker line-up, on Thursday, February 22. The unveiling comes after a brief sighting on the company's UAE website.
The device, which succeeds the Galaxy Fit 2 released in September 2020, boasts a range of significant upgrades. Among the notable enhancements is the display size, which the South Korean tech giant announced is 45 percent wider compared to its predecessor.

Design and Build
The Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 debuts four years after its predecessor, introducing an aluminum build that marks a departure from the polycarbonate chassis of the Galaxy Fit 2.
This new model also features a convenient one-click release mechanism for band changes, though additional bands are sold separately. Available in grey, pink gold, and silver, the fitness tracker is designed to blend style with functionality.
Enhanced Features and Specifications
The Galaxy Fit 3 sports a 1.6-inch display, a significant upgrade from the 1.1-inch screen of the Galaxy Fit 2. While the specific type of display remains undisclosed, there is speculation that it might be an AMOLED panel.
The processor on the wearable was not detailed, but it is reported to come with 16MB RAM and 256MB of inbuilt storage. Additionally, the fitness watch offers more than 100 watch faces, with the option for users to personalize their devices further by using their photos as the background.
Health and Fitness Tracking
Equipped with health and fitness tracking features, the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 offers heart rate and stress level monitoring, blood oxygen (SpO2) level measurement, and sensors for tracking sleep patterns and snoring.
The Galaxy Fit 3 also introduces a Sleep Coach feature, providing personalized insights to enhance sleep quality. For those keen on fitness, the tracker includes more than 100 workout modes and is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance (up to 5ATM).
Safety Features
New safety functionalities have been integrated into the Galaxy Fit 3, including Fall Detection and Emergency SOS. Samsung explains, "When an abnormal fall is detected, the Galaxy Fit3 gives users the option to call emergency services right away to get medical support in a timely manner. When users are in an emergency, they can send an SOS immediately by pressing the side button five times."
Additionally, the tracker can serve as a remote control for Galaxy smartphones, enabling users to take pictures, set timers, and control media player settings. The Galaxy Fit 3 is set to be available from February 23 in select markets, although the company has yet to disclose the pricing. It remains uncertain whether the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 will be released in India.
