Samsung Galaxy Watch FE with AMOLED Display, IP68 Rating, Exynos W920 Chip Launched

Samsung introduced its first 'Fan Edition' (FE) smartwatch on Thursday, June 14. The Samsung Galaxy Watch FE features a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED screen, a dual-core Exynos W920 chipset, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. and activity sensors include heart rate, ECG, and blood pressure monitoring capabilities.

The smartwatch has a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED screen with 396 x 396 pixels resolution. It features the Always-On Display option. Powered by a dual-core Exynos W920 chipset. The Galaxy Watch FE runs on Wear OS-backed One UI 5 Watch. It offers 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.

Health and wellness tracking features on the watch include heart rate monitoring with HR Alert, Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN), and blood pressure monitoring. It also tracks sleep cycles and offers over 100 preset workout modes. Users can access Samsung Wallet for digital wallets and control cameras of paired smartphones through the Camera Controller.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch FE is backed by a 247mAh battery supporting WPC-based wireless charging. Connectivity options include LTE, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi, GPS, Glonass, Beidou, Galileo, and NFC.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch FE has an aluminum body and is available in Black, Pink Gold, and Silver. It comes in a single 40mm size with interchangeable one-click bands. The watch measures 39.3 x 40.4 x 9.8mm and weighs 26.6g.

It also has a MIL-STD-810H-rated build and a 5ATM water resistance rating. Moreover, it also comes with an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The screen on Samsung's latest Galaxy Watch is protected by a layer of Sapphire Crystal.

Samsung Galaxy Watch FE: Pricing and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Watch FE price was leaked online. The Bluetooth version of the Galaxy Watch FE is listed at EUR 199.99 (approximately Rs 17,900). The Bluetooth version of the Galaxy Watch FE will go on sale from June 24.

The Verge also reported that the Bluetooth-only version will start at $199.99 (approximately Rs 16,700), although the LTE version is priced at $249.99 (approximately Rs. 20,900) and will be available later this year.
