A recent report had suggested, the next hybrid smartwatch from Samsung will be called Gear Sport. The smartwatch was spotted on FCC (Federal Communications Commissions) a few days ago.

Samsung Gear Sport could be the first smartwatch running on Tizen 3.0

The FCC documentation of the device revealed that it would come with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support. However, other details were not known. Now, a report by the publication called Tizen Experts claims, the Samsung Gear Sport will be the first smartwatch to be powered by the company's own Tizen 3.0 OS. The watch was even listed on the Wi-Fi Alliance's website with Tizen 3.0 operating system.

As of now, this is all we know about the features of the smartwatch. However, the FCC documentation contains a schematic that reveals how the wearable device may look like. The Gear Sport looks kind of identical to the existing Samsung Gear smartwatches. So what's new it has to offer? Well, it is speculated that the Gear Sport is meant to a perfect blend between a smartwatch and a fitness tracker.

At this moment, there is no mention on when exactly the South Korean tech giant will unveil the Gear Sport hybrid smartwatch. We assume that we will get to see the unveiling of the hybrid smart watch at the IFA 2017 show floor in Berlin.

Samsung is also expected to launch another device before that. We are talking about the Gear Fit 2 Pro. It was also certified by FCC recently. The name was even spotted on the official Samsung website with the model number SM-R365.
