Samsung Introduces Galaxy Watch for Kids Experience Powered by Wear OS.1
At Unpacked 2025, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch for Kids experience on Galaxy Watch7 LTE, in collaboration with Google. Powered by Wear OS.1, it will allow parents to manage the watch through Google Family Link. Here's everything you need to know including how to use the new Galaxy Watch for Kids.
What is Galaxy Watch for Kids Experience?
The Galaxy Watch for Kids experience is basically a new mode to set up Galaxy Watch that can help your kids stay connected on the go without relying on a smartphone. With Google Family Link, parents can easily manage watch settings, stay in touch and see where their kids are.

Key Features:
Stay in touch: Parents can now set up who their kids can call and text from their watch.
Manage Google Play apps: It will allow you to approve or block apps your child can download to their watch. One can even block an app after it's been installed.
View location on a map: You can easily access your child's location via a map.
Reduce distractions during school time: You can limit functionality during school hours to help kids stay focused during class on the Family Link app.
It also features 20 new Teacher-approved apps and watch faces in the Kids section of Google Play, which highlights a range of topics such as math, science, history, music, creativity, emotional well-being and more.
Availability
The Galaxy Watch for Kids experience has started rolling out to the Galaxy Watch7 LTE in the US and will be available on the Galaxy Watch7 LTE model from Samsung.com and at Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T nationwide. Moreover, customers who buy the Galaxy Watch7 LTE on Samsung.com can get a free select kids' band.
How to Setup Galaxy Watch for Kids
Step 1: First, you have to pair the Galaxy Watch7 LTE to your phone and select 'set-up for a child'.
Step 2: You need to follow the directions to set up features, and then activate the eSIM.
Step 2: After setup, a smartphone is not required for your child allowing children to develop healthy digital habits.
