Xiaomi VR headset to turn into a reality on August 1!

Xiaomi is exploring all segments of electronics, as it already has entered TV, Laptop, smart electronics, and accessories segments in last couple of months. Earlier this week, the company announced its first laptop, dubbed as Mi Notebook Air, donning an all metal body to take on Apple's MacBook Air.

The company is betting big in its new range of devices after creating turbulence in smartphone market. It now seems to be reading a VR headset as well. Xiaomi is expected to unveil its VR headset on coming Monday, i.e August 1st.

A new report quoted Xiaomi's General Manager Tang Mu saying that Xiaomi is prepping a virtual reality headset, which will be compatible with Google's Daydream platform that was unveiled at Google's I/O event last month.

As per Android Headlines' report, Mu mentioned that VR headset is important for it is the best way to provide a VR experience to MIUI users, as the UI is optimized for Xiaomi's handhelds. Also, the company posted a teaser on Chinese website Weibo, which suggests that the headset would be making its way on August 1st.

As far as its features and other details are concerned, there is nothing known about its specs and pricing as yet, however it is expected that the Xiaomi's upcoming VR headset will be placed to compete against the likes of Samsung, HTC, Sony and Google who already have entered the VR arena.
