Amazfit GTR Mini: Design

Let us begin with the watch's most expensive feature: the looks! The Amazfit GTR mini is elegantly crafted and looks aesthetic. The black and silver provide a feeling of modernity while preserving an attractive appearance. Granted, design is subjective, but I'm confident that this design would appeal to the masses.

The casing is constructed of stainless steel and is a cherry on top of the cake. The GTR mini features a single button which adds on to the minimalistic ideology, and is effective to turn on the display and toggle through the applications.

Amazfit GTR mini: Display

The 1.28" HD AMOLED display.on the Amazfit looks stunning. While the bezels on the Amazfit GTR mini are thick, the clarity is impeccable, and the 2.5D curved glass makes navigating a pleasure. At 326ppi, the screen is bright enough for both indoor and outdoor use.

There is also support for auto brightness, which automatically adjusts its brightness based on the ambient. The colors are vibrant, and the viewing angles are dynamic. Undoubtedly, the GTR mini has the finest display among smartwatches in this category.

Amazfit GTR Mini: Comfort & Durability

Amazfit certainly lives up to its name! The fit is undeniably amazing. The silicon strap feels pretty soft. Considering it's summer now, there was minor sweating and no signs of discomfort while wearing the watch for an extended period.

The glazed finish on the back, feels comfortable on the wrist, thanks to its featherweight lightness. I faced no issue with extended usage. In Fact, there were days when I went to take a shower and realized that I still had the Amazfit GTR on.

Amazfit GTR mini: Calling and Message Alerts

The mic and speakers are the only elements missing from this lovely jigsaw.
Yes, it does notify you of incoming calls. Sure, you can read and respond to the messages. However, talking through the smartwatch is not supported by the GTR mini.

Another feature that is missing is the ability to turn off the display. I would have preferred it if there was a way to switch off the display manually by double tapping the screen or the accessible button.

Amazfit GTR mini: No Phone, No Problem

One of my favorite features on Amazfit GTR Mini is the ability to monitor fitness without the need of a smartphone. The Amazfit GTR Mini's 5 Satellite Positioning System is capable of detecting accurate motions. This improves training sessions significantly because there is no need to carry an extra piece of technology to track information.

The flexibility of letting go of my smartphone to dive deeper and focus on the fitness session, whether on morning walks or the evening workout sessions, is priceless.

Amazfit GTR mini: Touch Response

The display feels just like a smartphone display, with a very responsive touch response. It is buttery smooth and has extremely low touch latency. There were no glitches or stutters in my regular usage.

I also installed games on the GTR mini using the Zepp App to test the touch sensitivity, and boy, was it accurate and immaculate.

Amazfit GTR mini: ZeppOS

The proprietary software Zepp OS 2.0 by Amazfit, like its GTR mini, is simple to use and understand. The overall impression is fluid. With a single swipe, you can get all of your health metrics and vital info. While the software is proprietary, there is an App Store within the Zepp App that lets you install numerous applications on the Amazfit GTR mini.

For the time being, the app possibilities are limited, but I'm certain that more apps will be released in the future. That being said, there's enough of an opportunity for me to personalize the watch to my tastes and preferences.

Amazfit GTR mini: Health

The health indicators are quite accurate. I also tested the watch's capacity to recognise a human subject for health purposes by wearing it on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with and without the strap secured, and it informed me to wear the watch correctly on my wrist.

My personal favorite is the Stand Up Reminder; it has proven to be quite useful because my workday entails a lot of research and testing while sitting in a chair for hours and hours; the alert on the GTR mini in previous weeks, it notifies me to stand up straight and do some stretches for the good.

The second intriguing feature is one-tap measure, which measures health indicators in real time and displays the heart rate, stress level, and heart oxygen percentage. Furthermore, the watch displays all important tracking data such as sleep tracking, personal Activity Intelligence (PAI) score, battery percentage etc.

Amazfit GTR mini: Battery Life

The GTR mini lasted 6 days on a single charge based on my intensive usage with Bluetooth-ON, receiving a ton of Instagram WhatsApp alerts, practicing gym sessions alongside health and time monitoring.

While charging, it took over an hour and a half to reach 100%. The battery performance is top notch, considering it's got an AMOLED display.

Amazfit GTR mini: Verdict

Overall, the Amazfit GTR mini has attractive aesthetics, is slim and super-lightweight, the sensors are quite precise, UI/UX is intuitive, the battery life is excellent, and has an elegant display.

If you need a wristwatch to precisely track your health measurements and the freedom to go for exercises without having to carry your smartphone, the Amazfit GTR mini checks most of the boxes. Launched at the price Rs 10,999, the Amazfit GTR Mini won't fail to Amaze you!
