HP H150 Wireless Earbuds Review: Budget Earbuds That Get the Job Done

Finding a good pair of wireless earbuds at a budget price can be tricky. With so many options flooding the market, it's hard to tell which ones offer true value without compromising too much on quality. Enter the HP H150 Wireless Earbuds, priced at ₹1,748 (at the time of writing this review). They seem to check all the right boxes on paper-Bluetooth 5.3, digital ANC, and a snug fit for workouts.
But how do they actually perform in day-to-day use? I put these buds to the test to find out if they're worth your money, or if you should keep looking.

Build Quality: Light, But Tough to Remove from the Case

I was impressed with the overall build quality of the HP H150 Wireless Earbuds. The case is lightweight and doesn't feel cheap, which is refreshing at this price point. However, I did have one issue: removing the buds from the case is unexpectedly difficult. You almost need to pry them out, which can be annoying. That said, once they're out, the earbuds themselves feel solid.

Regarding colors, these earbuds are available in a refreshing blue as well as a timeless black.

Fit and Comfort: Perfect for Workouts

One area where these earbuds shine is comfort. I wore them during gym workouts, and they stayed in place without any discomfort. The snug fit ensures that they don't fall out, even during vigorous movement. For fitness enthusiasts looking for a budget option, these earbuds hold up quite well.

Features: Solid, But Not Groundbreaking

The HP H150 Wireless Earbuds offer a Type C charging port, along with LED indicators on both the case and the earbuds themselves to show charging and pairing status. While these may seem like standard features, they are essential, and the earbuds do a good job in this department. The inclusion of Bluetooth 5.3 is particularly noteworthy, offering improved range and connectivity over Bluetooth 5.0.

As for water resistance, the IPX3 rating means these can handle sweat and light rain, making them gym-friendly. However, don't expect these to survive a heavy downpour.

However, it's worth mentioning that there's no dedicated app for tweaking the settings or adjusting the equalizer to your preference. You get basic touch controls for play/pause, next/previous track, and pairing, but that's about it.

Sound Quality: Decent for the Price

When it comes to sound, these earbuds are...fine. They won't blow you away, but for casual indoor listening, they get the job done. The bass and treble are balanced enough, though they certainly won't compete with higher-end models. In the gym, I found myself cranking the volume to near-maximum to drown out the surrounding noise, but that's more of a limitation in the earbuds' lack of isolation than the sound itself.

ANC: Mostly Just for Show

HP markets these earbuds as having digital Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), but let's be honest, it's not very effective. While the ANC can slightly reduce background noise, don't expect it to block out the world around you. In noisy environments like the gym, the ANC didn't make much of a difference, which is a bit disappointing. However, since they're priced so low, it's a bit harsh to bash it.

Call Quality: Surprisingly Good

For a pair of budget earbuds, the call quality on the HP H150 is surprisingly solid. I used them for work calls and personal conversations, and both parties reported clear audio with no distortion. The dual mics do a commendable job of picking up my voice without any issues. I even used them to record voice messages, and the results were consistently good.

Battery Life: Impressive for the Price

One of the highlights of these earbuds is their battery life. On a single charge, I got about seven hours of playback, which is in line with HP's claims. The earbuds also charge quickly, which is always a plus when you're in a rush.

Verdict: Should You Buy the HP H150 Wireless Earbuds?

So, should you invest in these earbuds? If you're on a tight budget and need a reliable pair of earbuds for casual listening, the HP H150 is a solid option. The fit is comfortable, the build quality is good, and the battery life is impressive for the price.
