Mivi SuperPods Opera ANC Review: Impressive Budget Earbuds If You Like Style

Indian market is flooded with budget earbuds, they have become more affordable than ever and even the quality and competition have also changed a lot. It has made selecting the right pair on a budget can still be tricky. To solve this problem, Mivi, the homegrown brand recently launched a pair of affordable earbuds named the SuperPods Opera ANC, featuring a sleek design and an impressive battery life of up to 60 hours.

I have been using the latest SuperPods Opera ANC for a while as my daily driver, here is my detailed review of these affordable earphones.

The Mivi SuperPods Opera ANC TWS earbuds are available for just Rs 1,999 and can be purchased via the brand's official site and Amazon in four distinct colour options namely - Aspiring Blue, Iconic Black, Magnetic Brown, and Popular Peach.

What I like about the buds is the sleek and curved designs with a metallic finish, giving a premium look. They are very comfortable with in-ear tips, giving a secure fit even during running. The oval-shaped charging case also boasts a metallic finish with a transparent lid which can be used as a mirror, especially for your quick touch-ups.

The branding Mivi is engraved on the surface of the case, while the charging indicator lights and charging port are placed on both sides of the case. They also come with an IPX3 rating, which can handle sweat and some splashes but is not applicable for heavy rain.

The plastic-build lid is a bit fragile, so open it gently to ensure its longevity as extra force can break it. Nevertheless, the Mivi SuperPods Opera ANC is one of the good-looking buds under Rs 2,000.

Mivi SuperPods Opera ANC Sound and Audio Quality

The SuperPods Opera ANC is Hi-Res audio certified and supports the LDAC codec to enhance audio transmission, which is one of the selling points in this range.

As the name suggests, the earbuds come with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) which is claimed to block external noise by up to 35 dB. They also support multi-device connectivity and low latency for gaming. Moreover, the Mivi SuperPods Opera ANC features Spatial Audio and 3D Sound Stage, offering a lifelike listening experience.

The earbuds offer impressive sound quality for their asking price. The bass is well-balanced, offering a good listening experience in mid-frequencies. Even I didn't face any issues while connecting with my speakers and phone. While the ANC is not as effective as more high-end models in blocking out all external noise, especially during travelling, it works well indoors.

One of the standout features is its dedicated Mivi Audio app which is available in both the Play Store and Apple's App Store. The app is designed to better understand the buds such as touch control, ANC, and EQ settings for bass. Overall if you are looking for an affordable TWS with a dedicated app for customization, it fits well.

Mivi SuperPods Opera ANC Touch Control

As noted, the SuperPods Opera ANC can connect to two devices simultaneously. It comes with Bluetooth 5.4 support, providing stable connectivity up to 10 metres. They offer smooth touch controls and I didn't face any problems connecting the earbuds.

Tap either bud once to play or pause music and answer or reject the calls. Tap and hold the right bud for a second to enable ANC mode. Moreover, the earbuds pair instantly when removed from the charging case.

Mivi SuperPods Opera ANC Battery Life

In addition to its design, another selling point of the Mivi SuperPods Opera ANC is its battery life. They are claimed to offer a total playback of 60 hours with the charging case.

After charging it fully, I was able to use the buds for one week with one hour of listening each day. While it takes around two hours to charge it fully, you can still enjoy a few hours of playback with a quick 10-minute charge.

Mivi SuperPods Opera ANC Should You Buy?

If you're looking for affordable ANC earbuds with a fancy design and longer battery life, the Mivi SuperPods Opera ANC can be worth picking. Besides, most TWS in this price range offer just AAC and SBC codec, where LDAC is a game changer, especially for those, who like to listen to the music as intended by the artists and can experience lossless audio (best-in-class). However, I would not recommend it if you are a bit clumsy, as the plastic build might be prone to breakage.
