Acer Liquid Z3 Announced With 3.5 Inch Display And Android 4.2 to Take On Budget Smartphone Market

The already overpopulated budget smartphone market is still witnessing the arrival of newer and stronger handset offerings. This can be said as brands like Acer, which are generally famous for computer and laptops, are now entering into the smartphone business aggressively. The already growing smartphone portfolio of Acer comprises of four handsets under Liquid series and now Acer has updated the series with the launch of Acer Liquid Z3. Other handsets from the company are Acer Liquid E1, Liquid E2, Liquid S1 and Liquid Z2. Thus, one can say that the latest one is the predecessor to the Z2 model.

With Acer Liquid Z3, the company is apparently taking it's chance by in the smaller display handset market. Perhaps, it may create intense impact in the lower range handset category which includes stron rivals like Nokia Asha 501 and other Samsung handsets. In short, Acer Liquid Z3 is a small and compact handset with average specs and strange features.

The Liquid Z3 comes with a dimension measuring 109 x 60 x 10.4 mm and it comes with a small but decent screen size of 3.5-inch display. It is powered by an unknown 1.7 GHz dual-core processor and currently there is no information on the RAM. There is also a 4 GB of internal storage capacity and a 3 megapixel rear camera. The connectivity options come with a regular WiFi, GPS and support for HSPA+ up to 21 Mbps. The handset is also said to run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. Moreover, there is also a dual SIM card slot support in the handset.

In addition, feature like Quick Mode profiles are available which offer four different profiles for different types of users. Going into the details, the Basic Mode is targeted at young people and is focused more on calls and text messages. While the Senior Mode will magnify the fonts and will give access to quick call contacts. Further, Classic Mode and Keypad mode is oriented towards those who need a keypad most of the time to make calls.

Talking about the color variants, the Acer Liquid Z3 is said to appear in Rock Black and Classic White colors. Moreover, the flip-cover and back-cover accessories will also be available in a variety of colors including Rock Black, Classic White, Sakura Pink, Pop Yellow and Lagoon Turquoise.

Availability and Pricing

Currently, Acer Liquid Z3 has only been announced to be available in Belgium, Netherlands, Ukraine, France, Spain, UK, Italy, Germany, and Russia. The selling price as of now is 99 euros or approximately $132 (approx. Rs. 8,030). There is no information on the India launch price and release date.
