Xiaomi Launches Limited Edition Transparent Suitcase

Xiaomi is a well-known smartphone brand in India and worldwide. The company has also been launching other home gadgets and accessories over time. Here comes the latest addition to the bandwagon: a suitcase. Technically, Xiaomi had previously launched suitcases, but the new one is a transparent suitcase that comes with a see-through body.

Xiaomi Suitcase Transparent Edition

Xiaomi announced the limited edition transparent suitcase through its official Weibo handle today (November 27). Right now, the transparent Xiaomi Suitcase is available exclusively to certain Xiaomi Home flagship stores. Plus, the limited edition has been launched only in seven countries.

The Xiaomi Suitcase transparent edition will be available for these select nation customers from November 30. It is priced at 499 Yuan, which is roughly Rs. 5,070. It is still unconfirmed if the new suitcase will launch in India. Some of Xiaomi's other suitcases available in India start from Rs. 2,999. So, even if the Chinese manufacturer releases the limited edition transparent suitcase in the country, it could be roughly Rs. 5,000.

According to the official statements by the company, the Xiaomi Suitcase transparent edition is made with 'urban elements in mind'. However, it remains unclear what this means and the company has left it the user's imagination. The design is certainly unique and bold and will assuredly grab the attention of the public. But for one, you can't pack a corpse in it!

The transparent suitcase is also handy for security checks at airports and other gateways for entering and exiting a country. Often time, security personnel scan the baggage and further request travelers to unlock it for more inspections. Will the transparent design help in security clearance? Maybe.

This isn't the first Xiaomi product that steps away from hard-core technology. The company had previously launched tee-shirts, sneakers, and more. Moreover, the transparent feature was also spotted in the 90 point suitcases by the company.
