Meta's Latest AI Trick: Changing Reality in Your Instagram Stories
Meta Connect 2024 was packed with exciting announcements, including the reveal of the Llama 3.2 open large language model and groundbreaking new features for Meta AI. Also, the first peek into Meta's future of augmented reality (AR) - Orion AR glasses.
Now, Meta AI is getting even smarter. It now features new voice modes, including the voices of popular celebrities. Users can interact with Meta AI using voice commands to share and edit photos. Additionally, a video translation tool can now automatically translate the audio of Reels and sync lip movements in different languages.

During the Meta Connect 2024 keynote, CEO Zuckerberg announced the release of the Llama 3.2 model. Meta AI on Messenger, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram can respond to voice commands. It will also allow users to choose from a variety of voices for their AI assistant, including celebrity voices such as Awkwafina, John Cena, Dame Judi Dench, and Kristen Bell.
Meta AI can now edit photos shared by users within chats and also change the background or outfits or background with something else commanded by users.
Plus, the AI chatbot can now whip up fun new backgrounds for your Instagram stories. For content creators, Meta's AI-powered translation tool can automatically translate the audio of Reels and sync lip movements.
The feature is now being tested with content creators in Latin America and the US, with translations between English and Spanish. It is expected to be available to more creators in the future.
Meta AI's Imagine features allow users to imagine themselves in different scenarios or styles whatever they want, and share those images directly with friends or on Instagram and Facebook Stories.
You can also select AI-generated themes for your Instagram and Messenger DMs and Meta AI can now suggest captions for your stories.
