Microsoft has decided to retire Skype, marking today as its final day of operation. In an official statement, Microsoft explained, "In order to streamline our free consumer communications offerings so we can more easily adapt to customer needs, we will be retiring Skype in May 2025 to focus on Microsoft Teams (free), our modern communications and collaboration hub." Transitioning from Skype

Microsoft has provided users with a transition period from February until May 2025. During this time, resources and support are available to assist users in migrating to Teams. As part of this transition, Microsoft has stopped selling paid Skype services like Skype Credit and calling plans for new users.
