How to Recover Deleted WhatsApp Images, Videos & Messages in 5 Mins
Undisputably, WhatsApp is one of the best instant messaging apps available right now. It's free, constantly updated, and very easy to use. Moreover, it is available in both the app ecosystems, Android and iOS.
It's obvious that you use this app to connect with your friends since most of them are already using it. And the recently added features like the ability to share pdfs and docs only make it better.

But have you ever wondered if the Facebook-owned messaging app allows you to recover those messages or images or videos you deleted accidentally?
If yes, then fret not! Here are two simple methods to recover messages, images, and videos if you have or ever happen to delete files accidentally.
Backup is important
But, before checking them out you have to know one thing, WhatsApp, by default, takes backup of all your files every 24 hours and preserves them for a week. These backup files can be used to restore the content you've deleted.
A simple uninstall will help
This method is the easiest of two. All you have to do is uninstall the app and try installing the app. In this process, you will be asked if you want to restore the lost data. By clicking on the restore button, you can recover data from the backup files.
Third party service will be efficient
The second method is to recover data using a third party service. Recover Messages is one such service which allows you to restore lost files. All you have to do is search for the backup file with a similar nomenclature: msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt.
Usually, you can find this file in the following locations:
Android: /sdcard/WhatsApp/Databases/msgstore.db.crypt
iOS: net.whatsapp.WhatsApp/Documents/ChatStorage.sqlite

Now, assuming that you've found this file, next thing to do is to launch the Recover Messages web service. You'll see a Select SQLite file button on the home page, click on it and select the backup file. Then check the I accept the terms of use (read the terms of use if you are patient enough) button and click scan. You would be able to see the files you've deleted accidentally.
Voila! Select the ones you want and download. Do note that this process may take some time depending upon the size of the files you are recovering and internet connection.
