This Mastercard App Allows You to Pay Online with A Selfie

Paying bills can be fun if you do it through MasterCard. You just need to click a selfie with your smartphone, blink once at your self-portrait and you are done!

The days of password protected online transaction are over. In order to revolutionize the online payment , MasterCard has brought a payment validation service through facial recognition. The global financial service company was preparing for this new development since last one year.

Finally, it has been rolled out as Identity Check Mobile app. The first set will go live in 12 European countries. These include United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Sweden.

However, it has been on trial version for quite some time in the Netherland, the USA, and Canada. The release date forIndia has not been decided by the company.

Users can use the Identity Check Mobile application for doing payments using biometric data, including fingerprints, eyeball recognition, and facial recognition to verify the identity of the cardholder.

As reported, this step is being considered as a milestone in the online payment verification market. The new application of Mastercard will simplify and enhance the security of online payments as no passwords or PIN codes will be required.
