Dropbox Transfer Lets You Share Large Files Up To 100GB
Dropbox Transfer is a new service, which lets users transfer even large files in a simple and easy way. This service that went official in July has been made available for users now after four months of testing. It is available for all users and comes in both free and paid versions.
The free version of Dropbox Transfer will offer minimal features. The benefits of the paid version of this service will increase depending on the subscription that users choose. The company touts that Dropbox Transfer is a quick and secure service to share large files including non-Dropbox users. With this service, it is possible to send even a shareable link via an email.
Share Files As Large As 100GB
Dropbox Transfer lets users transfer files that are as large as 100GB. Those who use the free service can share files only up to 100MB and these files will expire within a period of seven days. On the other hand, there are paid subscriptions such as Dropbox Professional, Advanced, Business, Enterprise and Education offering support for up to 100GB and up to 90 days of expiry time.
Subscribers who use the Dropbox Plus and Business Standard can transfer files that are up to 2GB but these will expire in seven days. Dropbox Transfer comes with features such as the ability to customize file transfer options with password protection and expiry date.
Users will be notified when their transferred files are downloaded by the recipient. Also, the data viewership process will be provided to them. The company has announced that the Dropbox Transfer paid subscription plans are available starting from today after the successful testing.
Our Take
Though there are many file sharing services available these days, it is still tough to share large files. There are very few services such as WeTransfer that let users share large files. In such a situation, it is interesting to see Dropbox Transfer letting users send files up to 100GB with a validity period of 90 days.
