Facebook Dark Mode Coming Soon; Facebook Favorites Also Under Works
Facebook might be testing the dark mode feature. A few Android users spotted the dark mode feature on the Facebook app and posted it on the Reddit platform. Although the official Facebook dark mode release has not been announced yet, it's the latest one to join the dark mode bandwagon. Facebook is also testing the 'Favorites' feature.
Facebook Dark Mode Spotted Online
The dark mode feature was captured in a screenshot and was posted online. The Android user also mentioned that the dark mode feature appeared briefly on Facebook and disappeared later. It was also noted that the user did not manually implement the dark mode feature, but it happened automatically.
In addition to the Reddit post, the Facebook dark mode was also shared on Twitter by two users. Taking a look at the posts surfacing online, one can presume that Facebook might officially roll out the dark mode feature quite soon.
However, all the posts about the dark mode on the social media platform were spotted by Android users and none by iOS devices. Although, it's hard to say if the feature is solely launching for Android devices only as other social media apps like Twitter have a dark mode for iOS as well.

It was also reported that Facebook is testing a new Favorites feature, which is believed to be similar to Instagram's Close Friends. The Favorites is a feature where users can share their personal stories with only a few people who are added to the Favorites list. The Favorites feature was posted on Twitter and later reported by Tech Crunch.
According to the report, a Facebook spokesperson said that the Favorites is a prototype developed by the Messenger team. The user can add up to 10 friends to the Favorites list by selecting from the algorithmic suggestions or manually.
When the user updates their Facebook story or post within the Favorites list, it will be directly delivered to them individually in the personal Messenger thread. The viewer can check out the Story directly, instead of clicking on the dedicated stories section.
