JioCinema Premium Subscription With HBO Content Announced

JioCinema has finally announced its premium subscription plan giving users access to a wider range of content including HBO shows which went away from Disney+ Hotstar earlier this year. The subscription plan comes after the platform garnered massive installs and active usage during the FIFA World Cup last year and the Indian Premier League presently.

Called JioCinema Premium, the subscription service opens up access to Hollywood content including exclusive content from HBO. Subscribers can now stream shows such as The Last of Us, House of the Dragon, and Succession, among others. Jio has promised the platform will get more content to the premium library in the coming months.

The JioCinema is available for download on both Android and iOS devices, and can also be watched on the web.

JioCinema Premium: Cost, Library, and how to get it

The JioCinema Premium subscription can be purchased from the JioCinema website when you click on the Subscribe button. The plan is priced at Rs 999 per year, and gives access to premium content on the platform. Jio has promised high quality video and audio streaming with 4K resolution, and with the subscription, users can stream content across four screens simultaneously.

Jio is yet to announce a monthly plan or a cheaper plan, but it is likely coming in the next few weeks.

The library includes a host of HBO shows including The Last of Us, House of the Dragon, Chernobyl, White Lotus, Mare of Eastown, Winning Time, Barru, Succession, Big Little Lies, Westworld, Silicon Valley, True Detective, Newsroom, Game of Thrones, Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Perry Mason.

The partnership comes after JioCinema partnered with Warner Bros earlier this year, to strengthen its offering against stiff competition from Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+ Hotstar. Hotstar recently ended its relationship with HBO removing all content from the studio, It also lost rights to IPL streaming to JioCinema.
