Latest ChatGPT Update Offers Improved iPad Support

Last month, OpenAI introduced a dedicated ChatGPT app for iPhone users. In the latest iPadOS update, the company has improved the layout of the app to make full use of the iPad's larger screen.

Meanwhile, both iOS and iPadOS come with enhanced Drag and Drop support. Additionally, the latest update brings Siri and Shortcuts integration with ChatGPT.

Better iPad Layout, Siri and Shortcuts Integration

Prior to the update, ChatGPT's iPadOS app would appear as an iPhone-sized app on the screen. With the latest update, the app's interface will make better use of the iPad's larger display. Not much has changed design-wise for ChatGPT on iPadOS.

The latest ChatGPT update for iOS and iPadOS also includes drag and drop support, allowing messages to be dragged and dropped into other apps. Additionally, ChatGPT can be used directly with Shortcuts and Siri.

ChatGPT App Only for iPhone Users, Android Plans on the Horizon

The ChatGPT app for iOS and iPadOS, which launched last month, is free to use and supports voice input, chat history synchronization, and Whisper - an open-source speech recognition system.

The ChatGPT iOS app promises instant responses, professional responses, and creative feedback. The app syncs the user's history across devices and includes the latest updates from OpenAI.

ChatGPT Plus subscribers can also access GPT-4 on mobile. The next-gen language model from OpenAI offers faster response times and an improved chat experience.

The ChatGPT mobile app first rolled out for iPhones and iPads in the US, followed by a launch in 11 more countries - Albania, Croatia, France, Germany, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Nigeria, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.

Sadly, India is nowhere on the list, but we can expect a wider rollout of the ChatGPT app in the coming months. As for the possibility of an Android app, the company promises that it is coming "soon." Until then, Android users will have to make do with the browser version of ChatGPT.
