LinkedIn Testing Ads For Video Streaming
LinkedIn is working on adding advertisements to video streaming services on the platform, allowing marketers to target users while they're watching videos on the networking website. As a result, the Microsoft-owned company will also be able to generate more revenue via ads.
LinkedIn Introducing In-Stream Video Ads
This development follows LinkedIn's move to include AI features that will make it easy for advertisers to create ad content. Penry Price, vice president of marketing solutions at LinkedIn, said to Reuters, "In-stream video ads can change the way brands and buyers reach and engage their audiences."

According to the report, LinkedIn is developing a "video advertising product that would allow marketers to target users of the professional networking site while they watch content on streaming services."
Apart from offering paid subscriptions for recruiters, sales representatives, and job seekers, a major chunk of its revenue can be attributed to ad sales. It is reported that LinkedIn made more than $14 billion over the year, and recorded an 8% rise in revenue YoY during the third quarter of the fiscal year 2023.
The streaming ad market has been burgeoning over the years, and it comes as no surprise that LinkedIn also wants a piece of the pie. The company has already amassed a huge database from 930 million users, which it can utilize to capture a large share of the $60 billion business-to-business advertising industry.
LinkedIn AI Features
Recently, LinkedIn also hopped onto the AI bandwagon, introducing AI features to help advertisers generate ad content. Additionally, LinkedIn Recruiter features AI-generated custom inMail messages for users based on their LinkedIn profiles.
LinkedIn is also offering a few AI-powered features for regular users as well, allowing them to easily create profile headlines and summaries based on their skills and work experience.
"This can help LinkedIn job seekers make a good first impression on recruiters because the name and headline are the first things recruiters see on their profiles," LinkedIn said in a statement.
