Microsoft Designer Gains AI Smarts, Can Now Create Social Media Posts in a Jiffy
Since its partnership with OpenAI, Microsoft has been investing heavily in artificial intelligence; the latest app to benefit from this groundbreaking technology is Microsoft Designer, a graphic-design app that debuted in October 2022 as part of Microsoft 365. OpenAI's Dall-E 2 text-to-image generator has been integrated into the tool, allowing users to quickly and easily generate designs complete with images and text.
Microsoft Designer Gains AI Smarts
Microsoft Designer has recently been updated to allow for the quick creation of social media content, complete with suggested hashtags and captions. In addition, the AI-generated design's canvas size can be adjusted without manual intervention. The app can resize your social media posts to fit up to 20 different platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and others.

Those seeking animated designs will find what they're looking for as well; the tool can generate animated text transitions, backgrounds, and more.
Microsoft Designer Is Built Into Edge Browser
The Edge browser now features Microsoft Designer natively, which is integrated into the sidebar for seamless creation of social media content like Facebook and Instagram posts.

Users no longer need to switch to a new tab or window, and there's no need for downloadable extensions. Additionally, the tool will provide suggestions for posting content as you work.
Microsoft Designer Can Generate Text With AI
The tool can also generate complementary text to accompany your visuals. By entering a brief description of what you require, the AI-powered tool generates hashtags and captions suitable for social media posts, while also suggesting font styles that would complement the visuals.
Microsoft Is Brewing More AI Features for Its Tool
Microsoft ain't done just yet as Microsoft Designer is set to receive even more AI updates in the near future. That's right, the tech giant has promised that there are exciting developments on the horizon, including a Fill tool that allows you to quickly place an object in a specific location, and an Erase tool that can whisk away unwanted people or objects and replace them with a fresh image.

It's important to note that Microsoft Designer is still in its preview phase, so there's no release date just yet. But here's the good news: the waitlist has been lifted! That means anyone can dive in and test out the tool to see if it works for their creative process.
With established players like Canva and Adobe Express already offering their own AI-powered content features, Microsoft is taking on a huge challenge in the competitive graphic design market. But with their advanced AI capabilities, they're definitely a force to be reckoned with in this new age of technology-driven creativity.
