WhatsApp Business App is now available for Download in India

Within just days after the first rollout, the WhatsApp Business app has now made its way to India. This standalone app is dedicated to small businesses to help them easily communicate with their clients and customers. WhatsApp for Business was first introduced back in beta in September last year in partnership with some companies like BookMyShow, Netflix, and MakeMyTrip. Initially, this new app was only available in a few countries including Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the UK, and the US.

Though it is worth mentioning that, before the public release, the app was tested in India and Brazil. As stated, the WhatsApp Business app is now available for download in Google Play Store for free in India. It is compatible with any device running on Android 4.0.3 and higher. In near future, iOS users are also expected to get a version of the app with similar features.

Aimed at small businesses, the WhatsApp Business app, which has more than 1.3 billion downloads under its name, allows small companies to connect with their customers in a better way. On this platform, business organizations can create their own profiles that contain information including business description, email and/or store addresses, and website.

WhatsApp for Business also offers smart messaging tools so that businesses can use quick replies and give fast answers to frequently asked questions. Further, it has options to send greeting messages to new customers and set away messages when the business is offline. This app also provides messaging statistics such as the number of messages read in order to let them know what is actually working.

What's more, WhatsApp Business supports WhatsApp Web to let users send and receive messages via a desktop. It has some similarities with the original WhatsApp as well. For example, it let businesses set privacy for their profile picture, about information, and status. The option for blocking contacts and enabling read receipts is also there. In addition to all these, WhatsApp Business users can make voice and video calls. As far as the security is concerned, the app offers end-to-end encryption.

The businesses can also get a verified green badge next to their name in the contact information to indicate that the business is verified and that the customers can interact freely without the concerns related to spam.
