WhatsApp Business India launch to happen this week
WhatsApp Business might soon be launched in India to help businesses in the country engage with their customers.
Last week, there were reports about the launch of the WhatsApp Business app for select users. It is a platform that is dedicated to the small business to communicate with customers. However, the WhatsApp Business app is available only in countries such as the US, the UK, Italy, Mexico, and Indonesia for now. The company did announce that the service will be rolled out to the global markets in the coming weeks.
According to a recent statement on the blog post of WhatsApp, it looks like the company will rollout the WhatsApp Business app in India in the coming weeks. WhatsApp has revealed that the app will soon be launched in India and Brazil, its major global markets but did not confirm when exactly it will be launched. Given that the app will be rolled out in phases, we can expect the service to debut in India this week itself.
Notably, WhatsApp Business is available only for Android users right now and users of Android devices in the above-mentioned countries can download the app from the Google Play Store.
The app was initially launched in 2017 in the beta phase. WhatsApp wants to give businesses more control when it comes to communicating with their customers. The app will let businesses create profiles with useful information like business description, email addresses and website those will be needed by their customers.
Also, the WhatsApp Business app will have useful features such as greeting messages whenever a user interacts with them for the first time, quick replies to queries of customers, and away messages when the business is offline. This app for businesses will also provide messaging statistics such as the number of messages read in order to let them know what is actually working. WhatsApp Business will support WhatsApp Web as well.
Already, businesses such as MakemyTrip and BookMyShow have been using WhatsApp Business and now it looks like the service will rope in more companies. The businesses will also get a verified green badge next to their name in the contact information to indicate that the business is verified and that the customers can interact freely without the concerns related to spam.
