WhatsApp Developing Contact Syncing Feature for Android in Latest Beta Update
WhatsApp is continuing to enhance its platform, with the latest update focusing on improved privacy controls for users. The WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.18.14, now available through the Google Play Beta Program, introduces a feature that allows users to manage contact syncing across multiple accounts-a significant step towards enhancing user privacy and control.
A New Era for Managing Contacts
The latest beta update builds on WhatsApp's recent efforts to enable multi-account usage on the same device. This new contact syncing feature allows users to manage their contacts separately for each WhatsApp account on their device. The ability to keep work and personal contacts distinct is particularly beneficial for users juggling multiple accounts.

According to the beta update, this feature is designed to give users more control over how their contacts are synced. Users will soon be able to disable contact syncing for any additional WhatsApp account they add, helping them maintain separate contact lists for different aspects of their lives. For example, you can keep your work contacts on one account and personal contacts on another, all within the same app.
Manual Syncing and Contact Backup
Even with syncing disabled, users will not lose the ability to sync specific contacts manually. This means that if a user decides not to sync their entire address book, they can still sync individual contacts as needed. Once a contact is manually synced, it will be accessible across all linked devices, ensuring continuity and ease of use.
In addition to manual syncing, WhatsApp is also working on a new contact backup option. This will allow users to securely back up their selected contacts and restore them if they switch devices or reinstall the app. This feature will be crucial for users who rely on WhatsApp for both personal and professional communication, ensuring that their contacts are always available when needed.
Gradual Rollout and Availability
As with many features introduced in the WhatsApp beta, this contact syncing option is still under development. Users should expect a gradual rollout, with the feature likely becoming widely available in the coming months. While it is currently available to beta testers, the feature is not yet active, and users can only preview what's to come.
