WhatsApp Enhances User Privacy with Latest Updates and Brings a Revamped UI Design
WhatsApp is introducing several new features through its latest updates, which consist of the option to mute unknown callers, a new user interface featuring a bottom navigation bar, the capability to create single-choice polls and other functions. Although some of these features are currently available only to a limited number of beta testers, others have been released worldwide.
Additionally, the messaging service is experimenting with a bottom navigation bar design similar to WhatsApp for iOS. Let's dive in.

WhatsApp Beta Users Can Now Silence Unknown Calls
In March, there were reports that WhatsApp was developing a feature that would enable users to mute calls from unknown contacts. Recently, WABetaInfo published a new report indicating that this functionality has been incorporated into the latest beta update for WhatsApp on Android (version 2.23.10.7). This new feature allows beta testers to silence calls from unknown numbers within the app.
To activate this feature, users can access it within the Settings menu under Privacy. By turning on the toggle, they can silence calls from suspicious phone numbers that could potentially be spam. It's worth noting, however, that these calls will still appear in the Calls log and notifications tab.
There Is a New iOS-Like Navigation Bar
WhatsApp's latest beta update for Android, version 2.23.10.6, features a new user interface that mimics the bottom navigation bar found in WhatsApp for iOS. This change is intended to help Android users navigate between tabs more efficiently.
According to reports, WhatsApp is currently testing this new interface with a small group of beta testers. As of now, it is not available to all users but is expected to become more widely available over time.
WhatsApp Has Also Enhanced Its Polls Feature
WhatsApp has improved its polling feature by introducing several enhancements, including the ability to create single-choice polls, search for polls in chats using filters, and receive notifications when someone votes in a poll.
This new functionality allows users to search for specific polls in the same way they would search for images or videos, using filters to narrow down the results. Additionally, users can choose to receive notifications whenever someone votes in a poll, making it easier to keep track of the results.
WhatsApp Users Can Now Add Captions to Docs
WhatsApp has added a new feature that allows users to forward media with pre-existing captions or add captions to documents when sharing. These features are being rolled out worldwide and will become available to all users in the coming weeks.
