WhatsApp for iPad to work like WhatsApp Web; Android tabs to get standalone app

WhatsApp service for iPad and Android tablets is all set to be rolled out soon.

Finally, Apple iPad users can use WhatsApp. Back in November last year, there was a report suggesting that developers are working to bring the messaging service to iPads. Instead of launching a standalone application, it is stated that there will be a new iPad client for WhatsApp Web that will let users connect with the WhatsApp account on their phone by scanning the specific QR code.

According to several tweets posted by WABetaInfo, in addition to the WhatsApp Web like service for iPad users, WhatsApp will come up with a standalone app for the Android tablets later this year. However, there is no evidence for the same as there is no trace of a separate application for the Android tablets in the making.

Going by the existing media reports, WhatsApp will launch a client application for iPads in the coming months. This will be a redesigned app that will be similar to the WhatsApp Web in terms of functionality. To use WhatsApp on iPad, users need an active internet connection on the smartphone as well. The interesting aspect is that users who have an Android smartphone and an iPad can use the WhatsApp service on the former on their iPad as this service is not limited to iPhones.

How to control storage space used by WhatsApp on Android

Back in November last year, it was speculated that WhatsApp will launch a standalone app for iPads. But now it looks like a client app will be rolled out to the users instead of a standalone application. For now, there is no clue on when the service will be released and there are various third-party services and tricks that let the iPad users enjoy WhatsApp on the tablet with WhatsApp Web. But there is no denying that an official app will make the task easier.

WhatsApp is already in the rage of adding several new features to enhance the user experience. The company recently added several controls for the group admins, Facebook-like stickers in the recent update, and WhatsApp Business as well. The company is testing the payment service called WhatsApp Pay that might be introduced early in February 2018 and the payments will be based on UPI. Notably, WhatsApp Pay is in the final stages of testing.
