WhatsApp to End Support for These Android Phones in January 2025

If you're still using one of these devices, it's essential to back up your WhatsApp chats and media before the end-of-support date. Failure to do so will result in the loss of chat history and media files.

Why WhatsApp Is Dropping Support

The move comes as WhatsApp continues to expand its functionality, integrating features like AI-powered tools and advanced messaging capabilities. These features require more robust hardware, which older devices running Android KitKat, first introduced in 2013, can no longer provide. Google itself discontinued support for Android KitKat earlier this year, further emphasizing the need for users to upgrade.
