WhatsApp To Soon Enable Multiple Accounts on a Single Device: Here’s What We Know So Far

WhatsApp has consistently strived to enhance user experience by introducing new and useful features. While the platform already offers a plethora of functionalities for a smooth and user-friendly messaging experience, there's one highly anticipated feature that has been on users' wishlists for a while.

The ability to use multiple WhatsApp accounts within a single application is a desire that's about to be fulfilled, adding even more versatility to this popular messaging platform.

Managing Multiple Accounts on WhatsApp

WABetaInfo has recently reported that WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will allow users to add and switch between multiple accounts within the same app, similar to how it works on Instagram and Facebook. Take a look at the screenshot below, courtesy of WABetaInfo:

The Current Scenario and Its Challenges

At present, WhatsApp permits users to log in using a single account on a single device. This limitation means that individuals who rely on two WhatsApp accounts, each associated with different phone numbers, are left with a couple of less-than-ideal options.

They must either juggle between two separate devices or resort to using cloned versions of the WhatsApp application. Not only can this arrangement be cumbersome but it could also expose them to potential security risks. The eagerly anticipated feature aims to eliminate these inconveniences effectively.

Progress and Accessibility

This new feature is currently accessible to a select group of beta testers and is set to be gradually rolled out to a wider user base in the upcoming weeks. The WhatsApp beta version 2.23.17.8 for Android has been identified as the compatible version for this update, although some users may also be able to access the feature by installing the prior 2.23.17.7 update.

WhatsApp Gains Video & Call Scheduling Feature

In more WhatsApp news, the Meta-owned app has added a new feature. This feature lets users schedule voice and video calls, making the app more useful for work and remote teamwork. This change puts the app in a position to compete with established platforms like Google Meet, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and others.
