WhatsApp Went Down Globally Due to Disruptions Again
Meta's most popular messaging service, WhatsApp, was reportedly facing downtime on Thursday. The company reported connectivity issues that plagued the messaging service, with several users also reporting the same across social media and on Downdetector. This isn't the first time the messaging app faced outages in recent times, though.
Downdetecter, which tracks outages of popular internet applications, including Twitter, Facebook and others, has shared that over the past 24 hours, over 37,000 incidents of outage have been reported about WhatsApp, the website's stats reveal according to Reuters.

Meta also acknowledged the issue with the company's WhatsApp Business API Status stating "We are currently experiencing major disruption impacting receiving incoming messages and message delivery on WhatsApp. We will provide another update within 1 hour or sooner if additional information is available."
Fixed in Less That 20 Minutes
The company, however, was quick to resolve the issue and soon enough users were able to send and receive messages on WhatsApp. The messaging platform's Twitter account tweeted that it is back online just a few minutes later.
In about 20 minutes after acknowledging the issue, WhatsApp tweeted that it is back online. Meta's status board also announced the comeback. "The fix for receiving incoming messages and message delivery on WhatsApp has been deployed and this issue is now mitigated. Thank you for your patience,"
Not wanting to keep users away from chatting, the company resolved the issues swiftly, acknowledging and communicating to users with prompt. A quick resolution prevented users from jumping on board other alternatives like Telegram, Signal and others, saving precious revenue. Long outages are never good for popular applications, with rivals always waiting to pounce on users and convert them.
The messaging service, however, continues to remain one of the most popular in the world, including in India where nearly every Android user get most of their updates from.
