Nikon Launches KeyMission Action Camera Series with 360° Video Recording

Nikon India, the 100% subsidiary of Nikon Corporation Tokyo, leaders in imaging technology is pleased the launch the series of KeyMission action and wearable cameras. They are designed to help users shape and share their missions, from the everyday to the extreme, and the stories behind them.

Nikon Launches KeyMission Action Camera Series

Earlier this year, Nikon had announced the KeyMission 360 - a tough, wearable action camera capable of recording true 360° video in 4K UHD. Today, Nikon unveils two more cameras in its action series, the KeyMission 170 and the KeyMission 80.

With videos increasingly becoming the centre of everyday communications, the KeyMission action cameras build on Nikon's technical excellence in optical and image-processing technologies. The ability of the flagship KeyMission 360 to capture seamless 360° video in 4K UHD format changes the way people capture and share their experiences.

The KeyMission 170, which is shockproof and waterproof, captures dynamic 170° wide-angle 4K UHD videos and vivid images. With intuitive interfaces and simple controls, even first-time action camera users can record adventures effortlessly. Versatile shooting modes like Add Slow Motion, Superlapse Movie and Time-lapse Movie are available for creating dramatic scenes for any adventure.

The ultra-slim KeyMission 80 is a tough wearable camera designed for quick shooting of stills and movies, enabling users to record every moment of their experiences as it happens. Featuring an exclusively designed small NIKKOR lens, this compact camera enables capture of high quality images. It is equipped with a second camera with 4.9 million effective pixels and a LCD monitor for easy selfies.

SnapBridge 360/170 app is exclusive to KeyMission 360 and KeyMission 170, which enables camera remote shooting and movie editing, while KeyMission 80 supports the SnapBridge app. Both SnapBridge 360/170 app and SnapBridge app, allow the camera to be constantly connected to a smart device, providing a convenient and automatic transfer of photos from the action camera to the smart device.

1. While the resolution of recorded data is 4K UHD (3840 × 2160), the resolution at which movies are displayed with playback is dependent upon factors such as the display device used and the display magnification ratio

2. There are parts of the shooting/recording range that cannot be captured underwater because images are magnified more than they are on land. Therefore, 360° content cannot be captured underwater. When the underwater lens protectors are attached, the protectors are reflected in images as black borders or bands. The camera may be unable to capture subjects positioned 60 cm (2 ft.) or closer to the

top, bottom, or either side of the camera because the subjects are not included in the angle of view (i.e., the area visible in the frame). Under some shooting conditions, the boundaries of the composited areas may be misaligned

3. JIS/IEC protection class 8 (IPX8) equivalent (under Nikon test conditions). The camera can be used at depths of up to 30 m (100 ft.) for up to 60 minutes. When the lens protectors are attached, it can be used at depths of approx. 20 m (65 ft.)

4. In-house tests have demonstrated MIL-STD 810F Method 516.5 shock resistance. When the lens protectors or underwater lens protectors are attached
