Feel your PC getting slow? Inspect these 5 components to speed it up
Of the myriad of tasks we subject our desktops and laptops, it ends up being dragged on its knees. We then notice that things are getting too slow. We then start blaming the various background processes that are taking away all the machine power.
But there are other hardware components that strip away the power from you and get you on your nerves. Here are 5 other components that can be the reason for that slow machine.
Processor Cache
No matter how high-end processors you have on your system, there will be a lag many times due to the cache memory within the processor getting filled up. Be it the i7 or the i5, chipsets work great if you clear the cache memory occasionally.
Read/write speed
The read and write speed of your hard drive matters a lot. It would be great if you check the health of your hard drives and also running tests every month. The better the condition of your hard drive, the better the performance of your system. We recommend using CrystalDiskMark for testing out the health of your hard disk.

Hybrid versions
If you're using a hybrid drive then, it would be noting that your cache memory is being used a lot here too. A hybrid drive is a combination of an SSD and HDD, where the former is used to access the most used files and the latter stores the documents that are rarely used. It can be useful to keep track of all the documents which you regularly use.
RAM upgrade
The RAM is definitely the main component that can change the speed and performance by a great deal. If your system still feels slow to you, upgrading your RAM for better and more capacity is a must.
Motherboard
Without the motherboard, nothing is ever possible for you to do with the other components. Getting a motherboard with better frequency and compatible with the proper RAM will give you a system that feels brand new.

Display
If you're wondering how a display matters in performance, we do remind you that the display is the only way you can interact with every element of the operating system. Getting a really good display for your needs depends on the refresh rates. Higher the refresh rates and the resolution that it gives, you could enjoy all your games and even do all your work with ease.
