In the meantime, a recent report by The Guardian claims that the 7.85 inch iPad will not support 3G and 4G networks and it will stick on to Wi-Fi connectivity only.

The report goes on stating that, “Industry sources indicated to the Guardian that they do not expect to see 3G-capable versions of the iPad mini. That would allow Apple to produce it comparatively cheaply and to limit the top price of the product, while retaining mobile broadband connectivity for its pricier iPad line.”

If the report turns out to be accurate, the iPad Mini with Wi-Fi feature alone will surely be a direct rival to Google Nexus 7, which also lacks 3G and 4G support.
