iPad Mini to Debut on October 23: From Top Rumors to Top Features We Expect From Apple's Next Best

iPad Mini is rumored to be as thin as the iPod touch 4G measuring only 7.2 mm in thickness as compared to 9.4 mm in the case of new iPad. This way, the new tablet could be thinner than the Amazon Kindle Fire.

Now, tech enthusiasts could wonder how this is possible, and the answer is too simple - the incorporation of the smaller Lighting dock connector. A smaller connector will pave way for a thinner device.

Earlier, Sonny Dickson, an Australian tech writer, posted the pictures of what he claimed to be the iPad mini, showing a device that is thinner than the iPad along with a Lightning connector.

He also posted a few images of the device via Instagram showing the new Lighting connector dock on the iPad Mini. Unfortunately, it appears that Dickson was only able to capture only the back panel of the tablet.

Coming to the speculations regarding the battery of the smaller iPad, a recent MacRumors report claims that it has received a couple of photos showing the battery with the model name A1445 and Apple part number 616-0641, hinting that it is the iPad Mini's battery. According to the report, the 4,490 mAh battery runs at 3.72 volts and offers 16.7 Whr of energy.
