Samsung Launches New Odyssey Gaming Monitors With OLED Display

Samsung has launched a new range of its Odyssey gaming monitors in India. The latest range includes the Odyssey OLED G8, the Odyssey Neo G7 and the Odyssey G7. While the monitors are a tad expensive, their pricing is justified when you look at their specifications.

It appears that Samsung has targetted these gaming monitors at a niche audience - gaming enthusiasts with deep pockets and an affinity towards the cutting edge. However, bank offers are also available for those who prefer affordable or EMI options.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G8, Odyssey Neo G7 and Odyssey G7: Specifications and Features

Samsung claims the Odyssey OLED G8 has one of the fastest response times among its Odyssey range, with GTG 0.1ms and 175Hz refresh rate. The monitor has a 34-inch flat OLED display with QHD resolution (3440 x 1440 pixels) and a wide 21:9 aspect ratio.

The Odyssey Neo G7 is the company's first flat Mini-LED monitor and comes in a new form factor. The Neo G7 comes with a large 43-inch screen with 4K resolution (3840 x 1440 pixels) and VESA Display HDR600 certification, along with a HDR10+ certification for top notch picture quality.

The regular Odyssey G7, on the other hand, has a 28-inch panel with ultra-wide viewing angles and Auto Source Switch+. It is also compatible with G-sync.

Samsung claims the monitors have been designed to provide faster refresh rates and have an improved audio system, along with higher pixel density, housed in a premium metal design with slim edges. The monitors also come with Samsung's Smart Entertainment feature, which allows users to choose between smart-TV functions and a regular monitor. The in-built Entertainment Hub offers apps such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube, allowing users to use the monitors as a TV replacement in their homes.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G8, Odyssey Neo G7 and Odyssey G7: Price and Availability

The Odyssey OLED G8 is the most expensive of the three at ₹1,75,000. The Odyssey Neo G7 is available in a white finish for the 43-inch variant and black finish for the 32-inch one, and is priced at ₹1,30,000 and ₹1,00,000 respectively. The Odyssey G7 is the most affordable of the three and comes at a starting price of ₹75,000 for the black colour variant.

The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 and the Odyssey Neo G7 currently have an instant discount of ₹1,750 if bought with an ICICI debit or credit card, along with no-cost EMI options from leading banks.
