Microsoft has been planning to give the Modern UI feel to the resurrected Start Menu and now Windows 10 is restored with the old Start menu but not the classic menu style, like we see the live tiles (full screen) in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.

Users can still enjoy this feature in full-screen mode as it is made default for tablet mode. This confirms that Windows 10 will power all the devices like phones, tablets as well as convertibles.

Search functionality has been improved in this latest OS from Microsoft, this feature has been docked to the task-bar which is fully visible always.

Switching between modes are made easy with the new Continuum feature which is very compact while using the convertibles. When the device is in laptop mode, Keyboard and mouse will come into effect which are used to operate.

While using in laptop, the new compact style of start menu can be seen. When the device is converted to tablet mode, it will get switched to the Windows 8 style start menu. This compactness will allow the user to experience both the start menu features while using convertibles.
