Xiaomi Showcases SU7 Electric Sedan at 10th Anniversary Event in India, No Plans for Indian Launch
Xiaomi celebrated its 10th anniversary in India by showcasing its first electric vehicle, the SU7 sedan, which launched in China back in March. While the car wasn't launched for sale in the Indian market, the event offered a glimpse into Xiaomi's ambitions for the electric vehicle (EV) space.
A High-Performance Eco-Sedan
The Xiaomi SU7 is positioned as a full-size electric sedan with a focus on performance and environmental friendliness. Alongside the sleek design, Xiaomi has also developed five core EV technologies specifically for the SU7.

These include the electric motor, battery integration, vehicle body construction, autonomous driving system, and smart cabin technology. With a significant investment and a large team of engineers and technical experts, Xiaomi aims to make a mark in the EV market with the SU7.
Impressive Power and Range
The variant showcased in India was the top-of-the-line SU7 Max. This electric powerhouse boasts a motor generating 673 horsepower and a staggering maximum range of 800 kilometers on a single charge. This translates to a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of a mere 2.78 seconds, making it a truly fast car. The SU7 Max also boasts a top speed of 265 km/h.
However, impressive performance isn't at the expense of safety. The car features a top-tier braking system capable of stopping from 100 km/h in just 33.3 meters. Additionally, a steel-aluminum alloy body and a suite of 16 active safety features ensure passenger protection.
Aerodynamics and Design
The SU7 features an aerodynamic design with a drag coefficient of 0.195, making it one of the most slippery cars globally. This translates to better efficiency and potentially longer range.
Tech-Forward Cabin
The interior of the SU7 is minimalist and tech-centric. The centerpiece is a massive 16.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The car also features a fully digital instrument cluster, a head-up display (HUD), and two touchscreens for rear passengers. Xiaomi claims the car boots up in just 1.49 seconds, ready to go as soon as the driver enters.
A Look Towards the Future
While the Xiaomi SU7 isn't available for sale in India yet, its showcase signifies the company's commitment to the EV market. The car's impressive performance, focus on technology, and sleek design suggest that Xiaomi might be a force to be reckoned with in the future of electric vehicles.
