PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for August 2025: Lies of P, DayZ, My Hero One’s Justice 2

PlayStation Plus members are getting a fresh batch of games this August, with a lineup that mixes dark storytelling, hardcore survival, and anime-style combat.

Starting August 5, subscribers on all tiers can access Lies of P, DayZ, and My Hero One’s Justice 2 across PS4 and PS5.

A Grim Twist on a Classic Tale: Lies of P

First up is Lies of P, a moody, Soulslike action RPG loosely based on the tale of Pinocchio. You play as a puppet trying to become human, navigating a crumbling city filled with deranged machines and twisted inhabitants.

The game blends close-range combat, dodge mechanics, and weapon customization through “Legion Arms,” all while letting you lie your way through dialogue to influence how the story unfolds.

It’s one of the more unique narrative settings among recent action games, and it’ll be available on both PS4 and PS5.

Survival the Hard Way in DayZ

DayZ is a survival game that doesn’t hold your hand. You’re dropped into a post-apocalyptic landscape alongside 59 other players. There are no saves, no second chances. If you die, that’s it—back to the start. The game includes two maps: the original Chernarus and the newer Livonia, a dense, forest-heavy region that ups the tension and makes exploration even riskier.

It’s not a new title, but its presence in this month’s lineup gives PS Plus members a chance to revisit—or finally try—one of the most punishing survival games around.

Anime Arena Action with My Hero One’s Justice 2

Based on the My Hero Academia anime, My Hero One’s Justice 2 is a fast-paced 3D fighter where characters go head-to-head in wide-open arenas.

You’ll get access to a big roster of characters from the show, each with their own “Quirks” (aka powers), and the battles get wild fast. If you're into anime brawlers or looking for a casual multiplayer game, this one’s worth checking out.

Anniversary Bonus: Free Avatars for Members

As part of the ongoing PlayStation Plus 15th anniversary, Sony is also giving away a set of exclusive avatars. These include characters and art from Cyberpunk 2077, God of War Ragnarök, Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo IV, and Twisted Metal. You’ll find them in your account starting August 5—no extra payment required.
