While Sony hasn't officially released full specifications for the Pro model, Digital Foundry recently shared details from the console's manual included with its review unit, shedding light on what gamers can expect under the hood.

The PS5 Pro, priced at $699.99, brings graphical boosts and performance enhancements aimed at serious gamers. Here's a closer look at the new console's potential, along with the lineup of games optimized to make the most of its features.

PS5 Pro - Key Specs

The PS5 Pro's power is driven by an AMD Ryzen Zen 2 8-core/16-thread processor paired with an RDNA-based GPU that delivers 16.7 teraflops of compute performance. This upgrade from the base PS5's (review) 10.23 teraflops allows the Pro to support advanced graphical features, such as ray tracing and Sony's PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution technology, which promises smoother, more detailed visuals at 60Hz or even 120Hz on supported displays.

The review manual further reveals that the PS5 Pro includes 16GB of GDDR6 memory, as well as an additional 2GB of slower DDR5 RAM for handling non-gaming tasks. Storage capacity has also been increased, with the Pro featuring a 2TB custom SSD, doubling the space available on the standard PS5. However, these improvements come with an increase in power consumption: the PS5 Pro draws up to 390 watts, compared to the original PS5's 340 watts.
