Gaming enthusiasts have a lot of things to look forward to in 2020. Microsoft could release a new Xbox console next year. Dubbed as the Microsoft Xbox Lockhart console, it is believed to be cheaper, but less powerful. Additionally, Microsoft will release another powerful console codenamed 'Anaconda', making two Xbox consoles in 2020.

There was a lot of confusion regarding the number of Xbox consoles Microsoft is going to launch in 2020. It was earlier confirmed that the company would roll out the Xbox 'Anaconda' console, which comes under Microsoft's Project Scarlett. The latest reports say that the company will likely launch two Xbox consoles, where one is named 'Lockhart'.

Back in June, Microsoft had announced Project Scarlett, which is deemed to be a single, expensive, premium Xbox gaming console. It was codenamed Anaconda. Now, it looks like Microsoft has planned a low-range Xbox console as well, which is codenamed Lockhart. A report by Kotaku says that Microsoft will launch two gaming consoles for Holiday 2020.

Microsoft Xbox Lockhart Console Features

Gaming enthusiasts might find the name Xbox Lockhart familiar as it was originally speculated to be part of the gaming consoles set to launch in 2020. We know that the Lockhart gaming console is going to be cheaper than the Anaconda console. The Microsoft Xbox Lockhart console is believed to be digital-only, indicating that a disc drive isn't required, just like the Xbox One All-Digital Edition.

Furthermore, the Microsoft Xbox Lockhart console can easily be considered as the successor to the Xbox One S as there's a similarity in the performance disparity. What we know about the Lockhart console is all based on earlier speculations and nothing can be considered concrete. Moreover, a Microsoft spokesperson said to Kotaku that it wouldn't comment on rumors or speculations and didn't confirm or deny the report.

The report says that the new Lockhart console will have the ideal target performance of 1440p resolution and 60 frames-per-second. The report also states that the console has been promoted with the Microsoft Project xCloud game streaming service and the Xbox Game Pass subscription.
