The Huawei P9 has been launched in the Indian market today at a price of Rs 39,999. The device comes with the Leica certified dual camera at its back and it features Leica SUMMARIT lenses that assure to click exceptional photos.
The P9 will join the other Android flagships in the market such as Samsung Galaxy S7 and it comes with the mainstream features such as USB Type-C port, It features a premium design and it is exclusive to Flipkart for now.

You can take control of the display's color temperature
Every user will see things in a different way. Understanding this, Huawei has included the ability to adjust the color temperature of the display on the P9. While most users may like the out-of-the-box settings, you can chose to adjust it to be cooler or warmer as per your preference. Just go to Settings → Display → Color Temperature and you can choose between the preset options - Default, Warm and Cold. Specific color tints can also be added to the display using the color circle adjustment panel.
Add several user profiles to the P9
You might be worried about sharing your Huawei P9 with others as they can access all the content stored in it. To handle this issue, the smartphone comes with the ability to set multiple user profiles. Well, you can do it from Settings → Users and you can create a new user profile or guest profile. Notably, the P9 supports up to four user profiles.
Add a lock screen signature to get your lost phone back
You can add a fingerprint, pin or password to protect your data, but what if you lose your phone and someone wants to return it to you? Well, you can add a signature on the lock screen such as "if found" followed by your email address or alternate contact number. Do it from Settings → Screen lock & passwords. Over there, tap on lock screen signature and type the message and hit Save.
Fingerprint sensor can do more than just unlocking
The fingerprint scanner at the back of the Huawei P9 is meant to unlock the phone in a secure way. However, you can register up to five distinct fingerprint sensor actions to interact with your phone. You can use the sensor to take photos or videos, answer calls, stop an alarm, browse photos, and show the notification panel with different gestures.
Swipe up on the lock screen to reveal the quick launcher
The EMUI on Huawei P9 has a hidden quick launcher panel that appears when you swipe up from the lock screen's bottom. This quick launcher panel has apps such as calculator, camera, flashlight, and recorder. It is quite convenient to use these without unlocking your phone.
Search for anything you want from the home screen
If you don't remember where a specific app or a file you have downloaded is, you can use the inbuilt universal search tool on the home screen to find the same. You need to swipe down on the home screen and type what you want on the search window that appears. It can help you search the Google Docs files too.
Change the navigation button layout
There are on-screen navigation buttons on the Huawei P9 and these work pretty well. But, you can change their order or add another button to the same. Go to Settings → Smart Assistance → Navigation bar and select the navigation button layout you like.
Enable the floating navigation dock
There are alternate navigational keys with a floating dock that can be positioned anywhere on the display. Enable the dock from Settings →Smart Assistance → Floating dock. You can get a small circle on the side of the screen and you can drag and place it anywhere you want it to be. Tap on the circle to get the on-screen Home, Back and Multitasking buttons and the shortcuts to turn off the screen and clear the apps that run in the background as well.
Draw letters with your knuckle to open apps
This is an odd feature built in the P9. It lets you open an app that you want by tapping on the display with your knuckle and drawing the corresponding letter. It is an unique feature and it is simple. For instance, drawing m will open the Music app, c will open the Camera app, etc. You can enable it from Settings → Smart Assistance → Motion Control → Draw.
Enable one-hand UI for one-handed use
The 5.2-inch display on the Huawei P9 is definitely not too big to make it unmanageable. But, you can use the device in the one-hand UI mode for a easy and comfortable one-handed usage. Go to Settings → Smart Assistance → One-hand UI and enable the option. You can swipe either left or right on the navigation bar to reposition the screen to the side.
