Google Meet Boosts Video Quality to Full HD for Google One and Paid Workspace Users on Web
Google Meet is now offering 1080p Full HD video to all eligible Google Workspace users and Google One subscribers subscribed to storage tiers of 2TB or more.
In July, the Mountain View behemoth added premium Workspace features centered on video calling for 2TB+ Google One tiers.

According to Google's blog post, the web version of Google Meet now supports 1080p video. However, users will need a Full HD camera and "enough computing power in meetings with two participants."
Furthermore, the new option will consume more bandwidth than the standard resolution, so Meet will adjust the resolution automatically if the device's bandwidth is limited.
The new high-definition resolution will be turned off by default. However, eligible users will be prompted about it before entering the meeting, and it can be turned on or off via the Settings menu.
Google Meet 1080p Video Option: Who All Are Eligible?
The new option is available to these tiers:
- Available to Google Workspace Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Starter, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, the Teaching and Learning Upgrade, Education Plus, Enterprise Essentials, and Frontline customers
- Available to Google One subscribers with 2TB or more storage space on eligible devices
- Not available to Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Education Fundamentals, Education Standard, Nonprofits, and G Suite Basic and Business customers
- Not available to users with personal Google Accounts
Recently, Google Meet added new functionality that allows users to deactivate the video feeds of other participants, making it easier for them to concentrate on the presenter and their meeting view.
This feature can be accessed through a new Audio Only option in the menu and is available to all Google Workspace customers along with legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers from April 18.
The Audio Only option is just one of the many benefits that come with Google One subscriptions. Members can enjoy other perks, such as 24-hour call duration, live streaming to YouTube, noise cancellation, and video call recordings, making Google Meet a versatile and convenient tool for businesses and individuals alike.
