Apple reportedly betting on new 15 inch MacBook Air to boost shipments
Apple's World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2023 is set to take place in June. Apple is expected to make several software announcements at the event. But if reports are to be believed the Cupertino-based tech giant could also do a laptop reveal, launching a 15-inch version of the MacBook Air.
According to a report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is banking on a larger MacBook Air model with a 15-inch screen to boost declining laptop sales. Rumours do suggest that Apple will announce its new 15 inch MacBook Air at WWDC 2023, although there is no information when the new model will be available for purchase.

While Apple is expected to reveal a new M3 chip at WWDC 2023, the upcoming 15-inch MacBook Air will be powered by the older M2 chipset. Apart from the new 15 inch MacBook Air, Apple is also reportedly testing new 13-inch MacBook Air, 24-inch iMac, and 13-inch MacBook Pro with the new M3 chip.
What we know about the 15 inch MacBook Air Specs
Gurman also noted that the new 15 inch MacBook Air's display could feature the same 3024 x 1964 resolution as the 14-inch MacBook Pro. Gurman spotted the new 15-inch MacBook Air in the developer logs of the App Store. Now, let's look at some of the tipped 15-inc MacBook Air's specs.
According to the report, the upcoming MacBook Air features a chip "on par" with the M2 chipset found in the 13-inch MacBook Air. It features an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU and offers 8GB of RAM. The new MacBook Air 15 is also expected to feature a 15.6-inch IPS LCD panel.
The logs also revealed that the upcoming MacBook would run macOS 14, which Apple is expected to debut at WWDC 2023. The MacBook Air 15 will feature the same design as the 13-inch MacBook Air.
