Apple’s M3 Mac and iPads Delayed Until 2024: Report
Rumors of the much-awaited Apple M3 processor launching later this year may not be true after all, as latest reports suggest that the chip won't arrive until 2024. The delay could be attributed to "yield issues" faced by TSMC in chip production.
This means that M3-powered Macs and iPads may not debut this year. Hence, the upcoming 15-inch MacBook Air will likely get the M2 processor, and not the M3 as some rumors suggested.

Apple's new M3 processors will be reportedly manufactured on a 3nm process and will offer a significant performance improvement over its predecessors.
Apple's M3 Chip Delayed
According to Twitter user Revegnus, the highly-anticipated M3 Macs and iPads will debut in 2024, and not later this year. The M3 chip will reportedly arrive as a major upgrade over the M2, offering a longer battery life and a boost in overall speeds.
The tipster states, "No M3 Mac or iPad for this year. Due to yield issues with TSMC not being able to supply enough of the M3 to Apple, Apple has delayed the release of the M3 until next year. So there will be no M3 Macs and no M3 iPads this year."
Apple's new A17 Bionic chip, which will be used in the iPhone 15 Pro, and the Mac's M3 chip will both be based on the new 3nm process. TSMC is reportedly facing a few challenges with 3nm tools, resulting in lower yields.
As TSMC struggles to keep up with Apple's demands for the 3nm processor, the iPhone maker is prioritizing the A17 production over the M3. This will likely ensure that the iPhone manufacture goes smoothly.
As for the upcoming Mac lineup, a new 15-inch MacBook Air is rumored to launch at this year's WWDC in June. The device will be powered by an M2 or M2 Pro processor. Meanwhile, Apple's iPad lineup will get a new upgrade next year, with a new M3 model, which could be accompanied by a new 14-inch iPad Pro.
