Dubai Is About To Host The First World Future Sports Games in 2017
The Real 'Real Steel' is here. Nah! We are kidding. But yes something similar is on its way in Dubai. Come 2017 and Dubai will be hosting the first ever World Future Sports Games in December that year. Now we can just imagine how amazing it would be to see little robots fight each other, compete in different type of races and even play games like soccer & table tennis. Yes, it is all true and not fake, all these things mentioned above are in fact already happening. So here is a list of all the details about the World Future Sports Games 2017.
The plan for the World Future Sports Games was launched under the direction of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in order to encourage innovation, research and development in the UAE.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, has announced the inaugural of the World Future Sports Games will take place in 2017.
The competition was announced during the first ever World Drone Prix, which saw a 15-year-old British boy called Luke Bannister took the winning spot and walked away with the prize money of close to Dhs1,000,000 at Skydive Dubai.
The event features nine competitions based on modern technology and artificial intelligence sports. This includes driverless car racing, robotic swimming, running, and wrestling, robotic table tennis and soccer, drones and manned drones racing, and a cybathlon (a competition for Robot-Assisted human athletes) competition.

These Games will be organised by a newly formed World Federation of Future Sports. Humans will both feature 'behind the controls' but also directly involved.
It is believed that the event will create economic value worth billions of dollars. Being held in order to inspire innovation and competitive spirit in researchers, professionals and youngsters, the global 'recruitment' campaign will start very soon.
Sheikh Hamdan said that today they start a new phase in their march to the future through the launch of these unique initiatives that are built on the success of their global platforms, the UAE Drones for Good Award and UAE AI and Robotics Award for Good.
